DAVID'S BIO
David is the man behind the dream, and the lifeblood of Ascend Salon.
Born in Sudbury Ontario, David has been doing hair across Canada for over 20 years. He fell into his profession quite by accident when he took a course to kill time until he could get into the courses he wanted in university. What began as something he figured would be a useful skill turned out to be a hidden talent... and the rest is history!
Earlier in his career, David happened to be in the right place at the right time, as he says, and was able to be part of the growth of a now national franchise salon. Later down the road, he was also an educator with Redken. He may be modest, but David is decorated with multiple certifications, awards and accolades, and has traveled internationally to teach. Upon the opening of Ascend Salon, he put his role as a Redken artist and educator on the back burner to be able to grow his business. He misses the excitement of Redken (and the travel!) but his heart resides at Ascend, where he spends his days lifting up his guests and making everyone look and feel their very best.
Having been relocated several times to help build and grow new franchise salon locations, David has been a Penticton resident since 2004, when he was moved here to manage and grow what ended up being his final franchise salon. In the spring of 2016, it was time for a new adventure, and David opened Ascend!
David specializes in both haircutting and colouring, including: balayage, foilayage, colour melts, babylighting and traditional foiling techniques; natural curls and precision haircutting.
